Physically demanding: Everest Base Camp Trek 12 days is a physically challenging trek within 12 days. Trekkers need to walk for 5-6 hours a day. If you have past trekking experiences, that involved walking for 5-6 hours a day then this trek is worth it for you.
Unpredictable weather: The weather in the Khumbu Region is harsh and fluctuates daily. Therefore, you need to be ready for any kind of weather changes. If you are not prepared for weather conditions then, this trek is not for you.

Tour Plan

Our journey begins early morning flight from Kathmandu or Manthali Airport. Flight to Lukla is one of the most memorable flights in your life. You can see a glimpse of mountains from the flight too. After landing at Lukla, we will meet our whole team and move ahead to the small village of Phakding. Overnight stay at Phakding.

Having our breakfast early in the morning, we will trek to Namche for 6 hours. We follow the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and hike through pine forests. Next, entering the Sagarmatha National Park, we again cross several suspension bridges. Upon reaching Namche, we check in at the lodge and stay overnight.

A rest day does not mean we will just lie down on the bed the whole day. We acclimatize our bodies before we hike further up in the high elevation. You will do short hiking around Namche Bazaar. Visit Khumjung village or Hotel Everest view is a good option. Otherwise, you can just walk over the ridges of Namche Bazaar and enjoy the views of hills and mountains. Overnight stay at Namche.

After spending 2 nights at Namche, we pack our things and move ahead to Tengboche. The hike to Tengboche offers beautiful views of Thamserku and Kangtega. Moreover, we come across the Dudh Koshi River again and walk through the Rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

Leaving Tengboche, we cross several villages like Pangboche and Somare. Again, we will trek through Rhododendron Forests today and cross the Suspension bridge. Likewise, on the side of the trails, you can see many mani walls. Next, we walk through the wide terrace field of Barley and potatoes and arrive at Dinboche.

This is our second rest day during Everest Base Camp Trek. We have to adjust our bodies well at a high altitude. Today, we can hike to Chukkung Village or Nagarjun Hill to enjoy the views of Makalu, Lhotse,Ama Dablam, etc. Later on in the evening, you can roam around Dingboche and enjoy the bakeries of the town. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

After proper acclimatization, we hike to Lobuche today nearly 5000 meters above sea level. Trek begins through small villages with the beautiful sight of Ama Dablam and Nuptse. On the way, we arrive in the village of Dughla where you can see many memorial statues. We pay respect to them and move ahead to Lobuche to stay overnight.

Our exciting day of this whole EBC Trek arrives today. Gorakshep is a very popular place after Namche Bazaar in this region. The hike starts through the rocky glacial moraine before we reach Gorakshep. We leave our baggage at Gorakshep and take a lunch break. The trail is quite challenging for EBC. We have to walk on a rocky trail with a cold wind blowing through our ears. After reaching Base Camp, one of your goals and dreams come true. You can see many other trekkers and climbers at the Base Camp. Next, we will descend to Gorakshep to stay overnight.

Another thrilling part of our journey is hiking to Kalapatthar. We wake up early in the morning before dawn and reach Kalapatthar to witness amazing sunrise views. Yellow sun striking the face of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other mountains are heavenly scenes. The vantage point offers 360 degrees view. Further, we will trek down to Gorakshep and have breakfast. After breakfast, we will descend to Pheriche.

Our day begins with a smooth trail of rhododendron forests to reach Imja Khola. While trekking down it is another opportunity to revisit the Monasteries and small chortens. Moreover, we cross several green hills and ridgelines to arrive at Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at Namche.

It is our last day on Everest Base Camp Trek 12 Days. Leaving the beautiful town of Namche, we trek down through different small villages. Moreover, today you will enjoy the beauty and wilderness of the Khumbu region for the last time. Next, reaching Lukla, you can have a small celebration for your successful trip to Everest Base Camp.

As the beautiful sun rises, we pack up our things and get ready for flying back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the last-minute views from the Lukla airport. If there is busy air traffic at Tribhuwan International Airport then, we have to take a flight to Manthali Airport. Next from Manthali airport, we drive for 4 hours to get back to Kathmandu.

When is the best time for EBC Trek?
Generally, the suitable to do Everest Base Camp Trek 12 Days is between September-November and March-May. During this time, the weather is clear and stable throughout the day. You can see excellent views of vistas in clean and clear weather. Likewise, trekking during the winter and monsoon season is always a risk.
